Feed the world

One of the social phenomenons of late are networking groups like Facebook. All good fun and very useful, I even have a page set up for this show and one for myself so I can put cryptic people in their place. You know the type, "John is feeling down". And then lots of people reply, "Why are you down John, please tell us?" From now on I can respond to such attention seekers by saying, "Dominic couldn't care less"
Recently, there's been a spate of people on Facebook asking everyone to sponsor them for this race for life or that charity bike event. All well and good, but where does it stop? I am fed up of people continually approaching me for some cause which is dear to their heart, asking sponsorship for some puerile exercise that they get some sadistic pleasure out of (long distance running or cycling usually). If these people were so intent on helping these good causes(which many undoubtedly are)then they should put their hands in their own pockets and leave the rest of us alone.
I know this sounds harsh, but think about it. Don't you know someone who regularly is armed with raffle tickets for this cause or that cause, and don't you try and avoid this person at all costs?
It's got to the stage where many offices have an outright ban on all raffle tickets. There are many excellent charities out there, Christian Aid, Help the children, Race for life come to mind. Everyone with a roof over their head should give something to charity, but I think charity giving should be whatever moves you personally to do and should also be done privately.

Around the World but still close to my roots...

I had the most pleasant surprise in my inbox today - no that wasn't a euphemism. Happy Hits Radio, one of the newest members of the lucky few to broadcast the show, have shown their sheer delight by creating me a logo. Here it is

Fantastic isn't it? And if any more stations or even, dare I say it, fans of the show want to idolise me in this manner, please feel free!
